Introduction:
As we were approaching our 1st anniversary as the owners of Yarn & Y’all we wanted to do something special to thank everyone in our community for their support during our 1st year. After lots of brainstorming & ideas, we decided to design our own MKAL! We wanted it to be a design that Jenn, Katherine & Sean could all contribute to & would reflect us as a whole & individually, and that is how this came to be! We are so excited about it and hope that you will be too!

Now that you know the ‘who’, here is the ‘what’, ‘when’, ‘where’ & ‘how’!

What:
We have designed a series of 24 individual blocks that will be combined into a blanket with a border being added at the end. The blocks reflect our varying knitting styles & technique preferences.

Knit in a worsted weight yarn on a US7 (4.5mm) needle the squares will be 11”x11” after blocking.
Knit in a fingering weight yarn on a US2.5 (3mm) needle the squares will be 8”x8” after blocking.

When:
We will be releasing the patterns for 2 squares on the first of the month starting on August 1st, 2021 & going through July 1st, 2022. The July release will also include the assembly & border instructions.

Where:
The pattern will be available for download on Ravelry & in-store at Yarn & Y’all.
How:

Materials Needed:
Worsted Weight Version:
Cascade 220 SW Merino yarn (220yd/100gm), 1 ball will make 2 squares. And we are estimating that the border will take 3 balls (we will update this if needed)
US 7 (4.5mm) 24” circular knitting needle
Fingering Weight Version:
United Socks by Katia (109yds/25gm) Each square will need 1 ball. And we are estimating that the border will take 5-6 balls (we will update this if needed)
US 2.5 (3) 24” circular knitting needle
