Thara (“water” in Thai) is a project that teaches patience and endurance when navigating more complex color charts.

Inspired by ancient woven blankets from Thailand’s Khon Kaen province, the Thara cowl begins with a provisional cast on in its MC, then dives headfirst into an engaging chart. Careful attention to yarn order will make the inside beautiful and interesting. Once the chart is complete, each edge of the cowl is finished with applied i-cord. Worked in the round, this generously sized cowl requires intermediate knitting knowledge including: provisional cast on, reading charts, stranded knitting, and applied i-cord, all on circular needles.
