Design and construction
This elegant, little top has an unusual construction and several fine details making it both sophisticated and relaxed.
The upper back is shaped by working “yoke-pieces” on the shoulders, and the upper fronts are worked from picked-up sts along the yoke-pieces. This unusual and interesting construction gives a great fit of the neck/shoulders.
The deep V-neck is embellished with lace-pattern along both fronts, at the bottom of the V they meet at the centre and the lace is continued to the bind-off.
The lower body can be worked straight, or with a slight A-line shape (explained in the pattern).
The narrow edges around the V-neck and armholes are worked to give the top an elegant finish. You might the same edge for the lower bottom, or the i-cord bind-off.

Sizes
The pattern comes in 8 sizes.
Finished chest measurements are:
80/86/94/103/108/115/121.5/132 cm = 31.5/34/37/40.5/42.5/45/48/52” Sample is worked in size 2 with approximately 5 cm/2” of positive ease.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a fingering weight yarn with great stitch-definition. I used the fingering weight yarn,”Merino Singles”, in colour “Drogon” , from La Bien Aimée, to work the top. This yarn comes in skeins of 366 m/400 yards. You will need approximately 650/700/750/800/850/925/1000/1075 m = 710/763/817/872/926/1010/1090/1171 yards to work the top. Needles: Choose needle size to obtain gauge. I used needle size 3 mm/US2.5, this is a suggestion only.
Notions: 4 removable stitch-markers. Tapestry needle.
Blocking tools.

Gauge
26 sts and 36 - 38 rows/rounds worked in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

The pattern
The pattern is tested.
The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out.
There is a schematic with measurements, as well as a schematic showing the knitting directions and working order of the upper body.
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
