Are you ready for Guernsey knits ?

Why not begin with this simple unisex textured cowl ?
Skills required are : knit and purl in the round, cast on, bind off, and … a little attention.
That easy Guernsey cowl is fun and easy to knit, it works up in a few hours, and makes perfect last time gifts !

I chose Katia “Merino tweed” to knit it, because of its softness and well-defined texture.
It resulted in a warm cozy cowl, with this unique casual look that tweed yarns are offering, but any well-defined yarn of your choice will do just as well !
Just take a look at yarn suggestions, or dive into your own stash, only 170 yards are required !

Instructions are written and I provided a chart for the central pattern.

Ce petit col est très rapidement tricoté en rond dans le style traditionnel de l’ile de Guernesey.
Sa réalisation ne demande que quelques techniques de base (jersey endroit et envers, tricot en rond, montage et rabattage des mailles) et un peu d’attention.
Le motif de Guernesey est un des plus simples parmi ceux de ce style.
Il est bien détaillé dans les explications, et j’ai ajouté un diagramme pour vous aider à le réussir.

Ce modèle unisexe est proposé en taille unique adulte (circonférence 56-61 cm – hauteur 20 cm).
Il est facile de l’adapter en enlevant ou en ajoutant à votre gré une ou plusieurs répétitions des 4 mailles et 4 rangs du motif.
