The 70s Called
This feminine and flirty skirt is knit in a tighter gauge than the yarn ordinarily calls for, which helps bring stability to the knitted fabric. The tightly knitted cotton yarn combats sag, and the wool yarn gives the skirt elasticity.
It is worn equally well on smaller and plus size bodies and comes in 8 sizes, the model is wearing a size 45.5.
Yarns:
Worsted Weight 100% cotton (MC), 430 (470, 510, 550, 600, 640, 680, 720) yds, AND
Worsted Weight self-striping wool (CC) 290 (310, 340, 370, 400, 430, 460, 480) yds. Super-wash recommended
Needles: Size 5 US (3.75 mm) 32” (80 cm) circular needles. Adjust needle size to achieve gauge
Notions: One extra 32” circular needle size 5 US (3.75 mm) or a bit smaller for Kitchener Stitching, 5 markers (m), 1” wide elastic, cut to the size of your waist or wherever on your hip you want the waistband to rest, tapestry needle
Gauge: 21 sts x 35 rows = 4 x 4”, (10 x 10 cm) in stockinette with the cotton yarn
