This is the third pattern in my series of 4 cable cowls. Fully reversible, the 99 cowl is worked in the round with an i-cord cast-on and bind-off. The two cable patterns are separated by a few stitches to bring out their beauty. Easy yet intricate looking, this piece can easily be done over a weekend.

Choose between two sizes: wear the first one close to your neck over a coat or jacket; the larger size can be draped around your neck all day long as a beautiful accessory. Both sizes come up to 8” in height. Add a few more repeats as desired to increase the size.

First cowl: The 64
Second cowl: The 68

I recommend using a yarn that is not too dark nor drastically variegated. For ease of following the pattern instructions, I’ve used two color fonts for both cable patterns. Rows highlighted in yellow indicate the rows in which cables are worked.

Written instructions and charts provided in this pattern.

Gauge: 16 sts/16 rows = 4 inches. Once blocked, Small cowl size is approximately 8” X 22” and medium size cowl 8” X 28”.

Please link your project to my pattern. I ‘d love to see how yours comes out.
