The Adventure Knit Hat
The Adventure Knit Hat is knit in the round using USsize 8 (5mm) needles. Due to the extensive colorwork this is an intermediate pattern even though it only uses knit stitches. Correct tension is very important!
You will need to know how to read a chart. There are no written directions for the colorwork section.
If you’ve never connected a double brim hat don’t let that intimidate you. I include a photo tutorial so you can master this technique.
The Adventure Knit Hat is like the ‘choose your own adventure books’ - you pick a brim option and once you finish that you get to pick which direction you go with the body of the hat. You can create 14 different looks with this pattern. The pattern includes all the necessary information, but is formatted to fit on only 4 pages of paper.
This is a unisex pattern that looks great with or without a pom. You can size up or down depending on how many of the pattern repeats you do.
I’ve included 22 photographs of finished hats to inspire you!
My tester group was fantastic at picking colors and yarns for their test knits.
Be sure to tag @4MamaBearMade when you finish your hat! I would love to see what combination you come up with.
Happy Adventuring!
- Carrie
