About The Finished Object
The Afterthought sock was designed as an easy vanilla sock patttern. Knit a tube mindlessly, using your favorite knitting method, (or purchase pre-cranked sock tube) then add a toe and place the heel wherever you like! This is perfect for gift-knitting socks, you only need to know someones shoe size! This pattern features S, M, and Lg sock stitch counts.

Yarn
Use any sock weight yarn you like: Finger- ing weight, wool-blends work best. Look for something with a nylon or silk blended in. 80g or more sock yarn for the tube
20g or more of a fun contrasting color for the toe, heel, and cuff.

Tools/Needles
• US size 1.5 or 2 (2.5mm or 2.25mm) needles. Magic loop, DPNs, or 9” circulars. Note: if you use 9” circulars you will either need magic loop or DPNs for the toe and heel.
• 2 removable stitch markers.
• 1 fixed stitchmarker for BOR.
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Scrap yarn for holding stitches (2-3g).

Gauge
Your tube should have a gague of 17 sts per 2”. Row gague is unimportant.
