The All In Shawl
This pattern is exclusive to Seattle Yarn for the Puget Sound LYS Tour from May 17th-21st, 2023. To get a free download code, visit Seattle Yarn in person, or shop online at www.seattleyarn.com during the Tour.
This half-pi style shawl vibrates with fun and a sense of thrill – bright and cheerful motifs, a bit of lace, and garter stripes, punctuated by an edge that feels like a sunburst. It will be big and beautiful, so go for it…go All In!
Materials: Suggested Yarn: Indigodragonfly Cariboubaa, 100% superwash merino wool (4ply), 435 yards (398 meters)/100 grams
2 skeins Color A, 2 skeins Color B, sample shown in “You Punched the Highlights Out of Her Hair” and “Roadie to the Max”
Yarn substitution notes: Any fingering/sock weight yarn, preferably a wool (or other animal fiber) or wool blend for blocking and drape. As written, pattern uses most of these 4 skeins. If substituting, be sure you have at least 870 yards (796 meters) of each color. If you tend to use a lot more yarn than average, you may want to plan for extra yardage.
Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) and US 6 (4 mm) circular needles, or whatever size needed to achieve gauge, 40” (100 cm) or longer.
Gauge: Approximately 24 sts and 46 rows in garter stitch, on larger needles, after washing, unpinned. Note that this gauge is for reference and is based on a swatch; gauge within the shawl varies depending on the section.
Size: One size; dimensions 76” (193 cm) across top, 33” (84 cm) center depth when blocked
