The Allegro is a baby / toddler / young child’s sweater that’s knitted bottom-up. The sleeves and body are first knitted independently and then joined together for the raglan yoke.

Knitted mainly in the round the neckline is shaped by working back and forth and has a relaxed two-colour collar band added.

Giving the impression of a layered tank top the Allegro gives a fun nod to the 1970s. The pattern is written for three colours but it will look just as funky in two.

Note: the trickiest part is joining the yoke and sleeves together. You may find an extra circular needle is helpful. Otherwise the pattern is suitable for advanced beginners wanting the next challenge. Note that skills needed are knitting in the round, magic loop (if not using DPNS), picking up stitches, raglan decreases and adding sleeves to a body for the yoke.
