The Anya Hat - a modern twist on a vintage inspired design to keep you fashionably warm all winter.
A beautiful suede and fur vintage hat I spotted in a thrift store several years ago inspired the Anya Hat. It was very pricey and made of real fur so I gave it a miss but I have not been able to stop thinking about a knitted one since!
This pattern uses faux fur yarn and wool to recreate the suede and fur of the original. I exaggerated the fur brim to add a modern flair. It’s always good to be a bit extra.
Construction
The base hat is knitted first, starting with the ribbed brim. Then the body of the hat is worked straight with the slipped stitch detail. To complete the base hat, the body is decreased for the crown. Next stitches are picked up along the ribbed edge and the fur brim is worked in garter stitch.
Sizes
This hat pattern is one size and will fit most due to it’s stretchy nature. Instructions on how to customise the fit (both circumference and depth) are included in the pattern.

Aran weight yarn - I used Cascade 220 Superwash Aran

One 100g skein of each was enough to complete the sample.
