The Anzolo Baby Blanket
Anzolo is one of the many squares in Venice, Italy. There are also many glass blowers there, and the colors of this blanket reminds me of the beautiful colorful vases made there. You can have fun and make this baby blanket using one solid color, or you can start playing with colors. You can use a neutral background color and pick a bunch of different colors and yarns. It’s a good option for a gift to parents who don’t want to know if they will have a boy or a girl. And what about using those small balls of leftover yarns? Perfect project for that, too.
The fancy herringbone stitch replaces the usual ribbing or seed stitch border. It stays nice and flat. The body of the blanket is a cute cable with a twist, worked with 2 cable needles to rearrange a few stitches, and give it a cross look.
