The April Scrunchie is a quick little project, inspired by the red carnations that became the symbol for the Portuguese revolution against fascism. It can be done in a day and will spice up any outfit that needs a little pop.

I achieved a gauge of about 21stst and 28rows over a 10x10cm square (washed and blocked), using 4mm needles and the yarn held double. However, considering the garment that is built, the gauge is not very important.

NOTE: You will need a 4mm needle (DPNs or a longer circular needle that you can you with the magic loop technique), a hair elastic and one other needle (smaller than 4mm) to keep sts on hold.
