The Arcade Beanie
The Arcade Beanie pays homage to Melbourne’s famous laneways and arcades. On a particularly cold and gloomy Saturday in Winter in Melbourne, I thought of my most recent trip into the city, exploring the laneways and stopping in at the chocolate shop in the Block Arcade with my son, back in the Summer holidays. This Winter’s day was one of those slow days that would have been well spent exploring Melbourne, and I thought of the moody coloured skein of Rasta in my yarn basket and the wandering alleyways the CBD has to explore, and came up with this spiraling cable knit - very Melbourne and very Winter! This beanie follows a super simple cable pattern and knits up lightning quick and squishy in a super chunky yarn. And, how fun is it to get out your 10mm needles every now and again?!
