Stitches Used:
Ch: Chain
Sl St: Slip stitch
St(s): Stitch(es)
Hdc: Half double crochet
Hdc dec: Half double crochet decrease
Hdc 3rd Loop- Half double crochet in the 3rd loop
SC: Single Crochet
Treble Crochet
CS: Canyon Stitch: yarn over, insert hook into SAME st and draw up a loop, yarn over and insert hook into the next st and draw up a loop, yarn over and insert hook into the next st and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through all 7 loops on hook. Ch 1. (Note: you’ll be using the same stitch as the beginning ch for the first one, and after that you’ll be starting in the same st you finished in for the next one. The last leg of the last CS will go into the sp of the beginning ch. See video tutorial if needed.
Gauge:
Chain 5, HDC in the second chain from your hook and in each stitch across, CH 1 and turn, HDC in each stitch across, CH 1 and turn, HDC in each stitch across and finish off. You should have three rows of HDC. My measurements were 1.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches long. If your gauge swatch doesn’t match, go up a hook size.
