The Athina Top
The Athina top is a sleeveless top/tank, which makes it suitable for wearing in warm weather. It is named after the capital of Greece, Athens, where temperatures tend to get high in the summer. It can however also be worn in cooler temperatures, for example with a long cardigan on top. The suzette stitch gives it a stretchy quality which also makes it very comfortable to wear.
The Athina top is made with a suggested positive ease of 11 cm/4.25 in. and is therefore meant to have a loose fit. It is worked bottom-up, from the beginning in the round, and consecutively back and forth after the armholes. The neckline is shaped by working each shoulder separately. The shoulders are finally slip stitched together. The top is therefore completely seamless.
The only finishing consists of making a row of hdc (half double crochet) around the neckline and around the armholes (on the picture the armholes have not been lined yet with this edge) and attaching loose threads.
