Designing always brings its lot of unexpected. This sock pattern is really not what it was supposed to be! I had in mind a different cuff, a slightly different heel and the little “trident” detail was a on-the-spot decision. Obviously, they had a totally different name also!

The Atlantis Twins is a cuff-down sock pattern with a slipped-stitch detail over a reverse stockinette fabric. But don’t worry! They are knit inside out, so there is only minimal purling involved. The heel flap features a mosaic colourwork pattern. They are easy and addictive to knit.

The pattern includes 3 sizes, to fit a leg circumference of 8 to 10 inches. Spend the time to take proper measurements before starting.

Choose a size that allows for 1½ to 2 in (3 to 5 cm) of negative ease around the foot.

La création d’un patron apporte toujours son lot d’inattendu. Ce patron de chaussettes ne ressemble pas vraiment au croquis que j’en avais fait! J’avais prévu un autre bord et un talon légèrement différent, et les petits tridents sont une décision de dernière minute. Évidemment, les chaussettes avaient aussi un nom totalement différent!

Les Jumeaux d’Atlantis est un patron de chaussettes tricotées du bord jusqu’aux orteils avec un détail de mailles glissées sur un tissu de jersey inversé. Mais ne vous inquiétez pas! Les chaussettes sont tricotées à l’envers; il n’y a donc qu’un tout petit nombre de mailles envers à tricoter. Le talon est orné d’un motif en mosaïque.

Le patron comprend 3 tailles, pour une circonférence de jambe de 8 à 10 pouces. Prenez le temps de prendre vos mesures avant de commencer.
