This square pattern is named after the Mountain Aven flower, found in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The white flower has eight petals, and thrives in cold mountainous regions.

The Aven Square is worked over seven rounds, with basic stitches yet seemingly intricate details. It is designed for easy join-as-you-go to make large projects, and can be worked in any weight with the appropriate sized crochet hook.
