The Barleycorn Blanket
With a stitch pattern reminiscent of a field of corn blowing in the breeze, this rectangular knitted throw has a gentle, rustic feel. Thanks to its thick and squishy texture, it’s perfect to cuddle up with whenever there’s a chill in the air.
The Barleycorn Blanket can be knitted in a substantial chunky (bulky) yarn, or use two or more strands of lighter weight yarns held together - this is an ideal project for stashbusting.
It can be adapted to make it whatever size you’d like.
Large needles and a simple yet interesting stitch pattern make this a quick project for adventurous beginners and experienced knitters alike.
The pattern is charted and has full written instructions, too.
Want to save on printer ink? The whole pattern is six pages long, but you’ll find a condensed version, in a printer friendly format, on the last page.
A huge thank you to my truly wonderful Ravelry test knitters for their invaluable help and encouragement!
