The Basket Case Scarf
I got my hand on this wonderfully soft yarn and wondered what pattern would be best with it. I wanted a special stitch that wouldn’t require a lot of looking at the pattern. The basketweave stitch is easy to memorize and easy to figure out from the aspect of the knitting.
But I also wanted a nice edge, something a little more fancy than just garter so I “borrowed without permission” Huan-Hua Chye’s border from her Prismatic Scarf and combined it with the basket weave pattern you see on this scarf.
The resulting fabric is a little less dense, but satisfying, and the central pattern of the scarf is a little harder to mess up.
On a soft and beautifully lustre-y yarn like the Mainland, it makes a cuddly and warm scarf. I thought the results were good enough to share and I hope you will enjoy it too.
Happy Knitting!
