I know everyone hates a gauge swatch. I’m putting it in here for those who swear by it! I am a relaxed crocheter, so my tension is looser than most. If you know you are a tight crocheter, I highly recommend you going up one hook size, or your bag will be small. Also, the hook size changes at the very end, for the handle, or so that my work would be a little tighter, a little firmer. You may judge your own bag and decide if you need to switch to smaller hook to make the top of your bag and handle a tighter weave.
