These dreadlock hats/tams are quite popular! I’ve named this pattern “The Big Dread” because the hat compartment is big and can accommodate really long, thick dreadlocks. It also has a really nice brim! I designed this pattern to produce a very comfortable tam that can hold its shape really well even with lots of wear. It is not difficult to make, and if you’re a beginner and are familiar with the basic stitches, this pattern should work for you. I’ve included lots of pictures and step by step directions. I am happy to help if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out.
