The Blue Bird
The Blue Bird (Lintu Sininen) was originally published in Rakkaat Kuviot Magazine. The color work pattern was inspired by a beautiful The Blue Bird wall paper from a Finnish company called Tapettitehdas.
The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. You start by casting on stitches for the neckline and work the neckline ribbing. You then continue to the colorwork pattern and yoke, and a few short rows are worked for a better fit. The sleeve stitches are placed on hold while you work the body and hem. Sleeves can be worked using the Magic Loop technique or with double pointed needles.
The cardigan is steeked after knitting.
