The Book Snake is the intersection of two of my favorite things--knitting and reading--and was created with the most simple goal in mind: fun.

Disappearing Loop Cast On
Knitting with Magic Loop Method or DPNs
Increasing
Decreasing
Colorwork (stripes)

Recommended Yarn:
Any worsted weight or worsted weight equivalent
Meeting exact gauge is not critical

Needles:
US 6 (4 mm) circulars
24” (60cm) cable for magic loop

or US 6 (4 mm) DPNs (6”/15cm)

Supplies:
Scissors
Darning Needle
Stitch Markers
Stuffing
Safety Eyes, Buttons, or scrap yarn for embroidering eyes
Color Card (optional)

Due to the nature of this pattern, the final length and total yardage of the Book Snake is up to you. It was designed to be a reading tracker (one stripe added per book read over the course of one year), but can, of course be enjoyed or made for other purposes.
