The Brodgar Scarf
Crochet openwork uses chain spaces to create an open lacy fabric, perfect for beautifully draping scarves. This scarf is compiled of a series of geometric openwork motifs, inspired by the “Brodgar Stone”, a ~5000 year old carved stone found on the Ness of Brodgar on Orkney (Scotland) in 1925.
Level
This pattern is suitable for anyone who can confidently crochet UK treble crochets (US double crochet) with an even tension. Both written and charted instructions are included, as well as detailed photographs. The pattern uses UK treble crochet, double crochet, chain, slip stitch, increases, decreases, and front and back post treble crochet (US double crochet, single crochet, chain, slip stitch, increases, decreases, and front and back post double crochet). Full instructions are given for non-standard stitches.
