The Buckley Blanket
I started this blanket because I couldn’t get the idea out of my head to have a simple afghan with beautiful knit-look ribbed edges. It was going to be a personal project, but after I posted the picture on Instagram, several people asked for the pattern, so here it is!
This is an advanced beginner level pattern that requires some patience with the ribbing and knowledge of basic crochet stitches. The main body of the blanket is brainless and very easy to do while watching TV.
I recommend an Aran weight/Heavy worsted to achieve correct gauge. For my sample (the Man-Ghan) I used 5 Caron big cakes - 3 Tiramisu and 2 Cookie Crumble - and alternated them throughout the length of the blanket.
The pattern is written in US crochet terminology and has grading included for 7 size options:
Receiving Blanket (40” x 40”)
Afghan Throw (52” x 60”)
Man-ghan (52” x 70”)
Twin (60”x 90”)
Double (90” x 108”)
Queen (96” x 108”)
King (108” x 108”)
