The Cape May Cap
This hat was inspired by a New Year’s trip I took with my family to Cape May. It’s very moody and quiet down there during the winter months, and the way the wind blows sometimes means you need a good slouchy hat to keep you warm. No matter the weather in Cape May, there are colorful buildings and homes which span the shoreline like glistening gems.
This beanie is a combination of textured purls and slipped stitches.
For this hat you will need a US size 6 for the ribbing and a US size 7 for the rest of the body.
This hat is in 3 different sizes: Adult Small (18-20”), Adult Medium (20-22”), Adult Large (22-24”).
You will need three colors of worsted weight yarn. I designed the Cape May Cap with Malabrigo Rios and Berroco Ultra Alpaca, but you can use any worsted weight yarn that has great stitch definition.
