A classic and clean design, this cowl is a quick and relaxing knit. It is also a nice introduction to stranded colorwork for those who have yet to give it a try. Experiment with yarn weights, using worsted or DK; feel free to mix and match.

The concepts of balance and community inspired the name and the design of this cowl. Balance represented in the 2 colorblock sections, and in the center, community (colorwork section), an interwoven connection unifying the 2 halves.

MATERIALS

  • Main Color 1: One skein of mYak Baby Yak Medium, shown here in the Desert colorway. Or approximately 75 yards (69 meters) of worsted weight yarn.
  • Main Color 2: One skein of Blue Sky Fibers Eco-Cashmere, shown here in the Polished Purl colorway. Or approximately 82 yards (75 meters) of DK weight yarn.
  • Contrast Color: One skein of Rauma Alpakka Lin, shown here in colorway 1386 (Old Rose). Or approximately 16 yards (15 meters) of Aran weight Alpaca blend wool. (Alternatively, you may wish to hold 2 strands of lace weight mohair yarn together, which would require approximately 32 yards of lace weight mohair yarn in total.)
