The Ciara Shawl
Have you ever met someone who’s got a classic, effortless style, someone who just knows how to toss on a shawl and it drapes perfectly every time? Added to that, they’re authentic, generous, supportive and creative? That’s Ciara, the person who inspired this shawl. She’s been the owner of our local yarn store, Rumpelstitlskin (in Sacramento, CA) for the past 4 years, inspiring customers, teachers, designers and dyers alike. Personally, I’m so grateful for her support and belief in me as a pattern designer. The Ciara Shawl, like its namesake, has a timeless, classic elegance. Knitted with 3 different colors of fingering weight yarn, the design contains enough repetition for you to relax into, with enough detail to keep it interesting. The shape of this shawl is a bias, asymmetrical, elongated triangle, with a gently curving top edge that hugs your neck beautifully. You can wear your shawl as a cozy wrap, or draped lightly over your shoulders. Thank you Ciara!
MATERIALS:
3 skeins of different colored fingering weight yarn, approximately 100 grams per skein and 400 yards each.

APPROXIMATE GAUGE:
Exact gauge isn’t that important - it’s a shawl, after all
The examples were knitted with Emma’s Yarn SUPER SILKY on size 3 needles and produced a gauge of approximately 18 stitches and 28 rows in garter stitch to 4”/10 cm. after light blocking
