The Circular Tree-Climber Waistcoat
This is the pattern for a simple circular unisex crocheted waistcoat. Put the collar down and you have a Hobbit, collar up and Ming The Merciless is in town! Made in super chunky yarn it is very warm and comfortable, perfect for playing and running around in the woods on chilly days. Open at the front so it doesn’t get in the way whilst tree climbing and longer at the back to keep out the cold and give you something warm to sit on when you collapse on a tree stump for a rest!
UK terminology used.
Please feel free to use this pattern to make your own, gifts for friends and to sell from on a small scale, however please give credit to me for the pattern by inserting a link to the pattern if online or stating ‘design by The Slippy Chicken Company on Ravelry’ on the label. Thank you.
This pattern is not written in a particular size as it is fully adjustable for whatever size you are making. In this example the waistcoat was made for my daughter. You will need to measure the child across his/her back, from underarm to underarm as this measurement will be used to make the correct sizing for your garment. In this example my daughter’s back measured 23cm which is approx. age 2 years, and I have used these measurements as a guide throughout for my examples. I fully explain how to adjust your pattern to make the garment fit its intended wearer, it’s really easy.
The Slippy Chicken makes and designs practical, comfortable, colourful and stylish knitwear and accessories for children. At the beginning of 2016 we made the decision to concentrate on only unisex and gender-fluid clothing. If you like what we’re doing please follow us on:
