A couple of years ago I took part in a Christmas gift exchange with a group of Irish knitters and one of the requirements was to send something handmade to our giftee. I had a couple of skeins of DK in my stash and decided to knit a simple, cosy cowl using the Feather and Fan stitch pattern, and so, the Clara Cowl was born.

I’ve made a number of these as gifts and the pattern has been requested by several fellow knitters, so I decided to upload it as a free pattern.
