The Clearwater River Slouchy is a modern crochet slouchy with a knit look. I love the look of knit designs however my brain currently doesn’t understand knit as well as it does crochet. I’m sure some day with enough practice, I’ll get there. In the mean time I enjoy creating crochet designs with a knit look without having to learn a new craft (i.e knitting or Tunisian crochet.

This unisex design is simple and elegant with a multitude of options. Use a luxury yarn like a cashmere or alpaca/silk blend for classic stylish hat with elegant drape. Or try a beautiful hand dyed yarn for a one of a kind option, my favorite is @sewhappyjane. Decrease the number of rows and use a 100% wool yarn for a more fitted skull hat which would be perfect for fishing along the river or hiking in the mountains. For a vegan option use one of the beautiful worsted weight acrylic yarns available. The possibilities truly are endless.

This pattern is a seamless hat worked from the crown down. Sizes include xsmall (baby), small (toddler), medium (child), large (tween/adult) and XL. The pattern is easily customizable for an exact or desired fit.
