The Colour Block Boxy Tee
The Colour Block Boxy is a super simple, easily customisable, top down sweater.
You can simply follow the instructions to create a lovely, boxy fit sweater, but there are also many opportunities for you to customise the fit of your sweater to be the perfect fit for your body. I will guide you through the options, as we come to them, so you feel comfortable making each decision.
The Colour Block Boxy can be knit entirely in one colour and will be absolutely fantastic, but I cordially invite you to let your creative side run wild. You could fade from one colour to another, create a marled fabric by holding two strands of yarn together, colour block with coordinating or contrasting colours or even add a fluffy layer with some Suri Silk or Mohair.
Designed to be a boxy fit, I recommend 6-8” (12-17cm) positive ease, however, the listed sizes are the finished size so choose an ease that you feel most comfortable with. Testers knitted their garments ease with as little as 0” to as much as 12” of positive ease.
I am a 35” bust and both my black and speckled grey sample, and the ginger fade sample, is a size 42” giving me 7” positive ease.
The sizes given are finished bust size (measured at the widest point) so just apply your chosen ease to your bust measurement and then choose the nearest size.
The pattern is written for DK weight, which can be substituted for two strands of fingering weight held double if you prefer.
The pattern is written for both junior and adult sizes, starting at age 2yrs all the way up to, and including, adult 60” chest.
