The Cowl
There is nothing more satisfying than an easy-to-knit, beautiful-to-wear, luxuriously soft accessory. Held triple-stranded with one worsted weight and two fingering weight yarns, the possibilities are truly endless. Subtle shaping is achieved using three different needle sizes and we knit till we ran out of yarn!
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approx 28” / 71 cm circumference at bottom x 24” / 61 cm circumference at top x 17” / 43 cm tall
YARN
Knit with 2 skeins of Halo Worsted and 2 skeins of Phoebe
Sample knit in: 1 strand of Halo Worsted (100% cashmere) 115 yds / 105 m per 60 g) and 2 strands of Phoebe (100% cashmere; 5 skeins; each 230 yd/ 210 m per 60 g) held together
GAUGE
14 sts and 21 rnds = 4” in 3x2 ribbing with 1 strand of worsted weight and 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held together on Needle A.
NEEDLES
Needles listed is suggested. Always take time to swatch.
• Needle A: 24” circular needle in size US 10.5
• Needle B: 24” circular needle in size US 10
• Needle C: 16” circular needle in size US 9
TOOLS
Stitch marker and tapestry needle
NOTES
• Worked circularly from bottom up.
• 3 strands of yarn held together throughout. 1 strand of worsted weight with 2 strands of fingering weight.
• Gentle shaping of the cowl is achieved with needle changes.
• Cowl is worked until yarn runs out.
