I went to take a sip of tea from my tea mug and noticed flies swimming in it. It made me realize that I could make something reusable to cover my mug so that I wouldn’t have flies, bugs, cats, puppies etc. trying to drink from my cup. The Cup Beanie was born.

This pattern has 2 sizes and can be made for a 12 oz and a 16 oz coffee and/or tea mugs/cups and could be adapted to fit onto the lids of other cups. Stuffing the knob is optional.

I used a G (4.25 MM) hook and I Love This Cotton in Hot Orchid. The cup beanie can be made with acrylic too. There are so many possibilities to decorate this beanie to make it unique.
