Skill Level:
As far as shawls go I think rectangular shawls are the easiest because you don’t have to balance any increases while working a stitch pattern. That being said this shawl is worked in a straight rectangle and uses lace and garter. The lace stitch does require some knowledge of knitting, I think it can easily be tackled by an advanced beginner, but if this is your first pattern I would say to practice a bit before doing it. You can check out the free video (linked above) on my channel and try out the lace stitch, if it seems doable then totally give it a try. Thats my best advice, try out the lace stitch first and if that’s doable then this pattern will be a breeze.

MATERIALS
YARN -- Fingering weight approx:
CA: 705 yds {644 m}
CB: 370 yds {338 m}

Sample uses: Pichinku Tawa base (70% merino/30% mulberry silk, 436 yds {400 m}/100g) in the colorways Petal (CA) and Natural (CB).

NEEDLES
US 6 {4.0 mm} recommended at least 24” { 60 cm} circular needles to fit all the stitches easily.
Or size needed to match gauge.

Note: You can also use long straight needles if you prefer, but I always recommend circulars for shawls because it’s really easy to fit all the stitches on it.

OTHER MATERIALS
Yarn Needle, Stitch Markers

GAUGE
Worked flat and blocked.
Garter: 20 sts / 29 rows = 4” {10 cm}
Cats Eye Net Lace Stitch: 24 sts / 29 rows = 4” {10 cm}

Note: If your row gauge is off by 1-2 rows don’t worry, you can always fudge the difference when blocking your piece in the end.

GAUGE SWATCH TIPS
I recommend casting on a multiple of 4 for the lace + any # of stitches for garter, and work both the lace and garter in the same gauge swatch. It will probably help to place a stitch marker in between each area when knitting. That way you can accurately get a measurement for both types of stitches.

SIZING
One size - Rounded to the nearest 0.25” {0.5 cm}
19.25” {49 cm} Wide x 72” {183 cm} Long

This pattern has not been tech edited or test knit, I’ve done my best to go over it thoroughly and spent weeks checking it over so I hope there are no errors, but I’m only human. If you find an error you can email me at bluemouseshop@gmail.com
