The Dara Knot
The Dara Knot was often used in post-Roman British and Irish manuscripts and stonework to symbolize strength, wisdom, and family. It makes a stunning wall hanging, framed crochet art, or tablecloth for a plant stand or side table.
One pattern repeat using a 1.25 mm hook and size 10 crochet thread (aka bedspread weight thread) is 12” tall x 10 1/2” wide.
If you include an envelope border like I did, the total size is 12 1/2” tall x 11” wide.
Stitches you’ll need to know:
Chain
Single Crochet
Double Crochet
Double Crochet 2 Together
Double Crochet 3 Together
Two digital files included. Pattern includes full-color photos and written instructions. The chart is 7 pages long in landscape, with each page titled to help you keep track of the pages (bottom right, bottom left, etc.) The chart includes symbols, symbol legend, and all columns and rows are numbered.
