This patters is easy for beginners if you know how to half double crochet on the back loop and single crochet.

supplies you need:
4.5 mm crochet hook
12x12 pillow insert( note this pattern was made to fit a 12x12 pillow but can be made in any size of your choice)
worsted weight yarn
yarn needle
scissors
knowledge of how to apply tassels
