The Dragon’s Tale can be a simple scarf, or a fierce protector of the neck.

It can be worked as a long, narrow crescent, or slightly deeper, or even adapted to a rectangle with a lovely wavy border along the bottom.

Or for the true dragon fans, add the head and tail sections to create your own pet dragon that will snuggle warmly round your neck and peer imperiously at strangers, or flick its tail in warning if someone gets too close..

The design uses minimal lacework - each row has a single increase and decrease in each row of the border, creating the rippling, sinuous edge.

It uses a very simple integrated I cord edge, formed by slipping the first three sts.

The Dragon’s Head is shaped mostly with cables, and is included in the pattern in its own PDF. Please be sure to also download this page if intending to create a head-to-tail dragon, rather than simply a dragon scaled scarf.

Length and width are adaptable.

Suitable for DK to Aran weight, by adjusting needle size to suit your yarn and individual tension.

The companion shawl version, Dragonflight, uses a widened verse of the scaley border, on a deeper shawl, with neat little wingtips at both ends, and is suitable for fingering up to DK. Buy both patterns at once and get the second one half price. :)

Die Fabel des Drachen kann als schmaler Schal oder auch als großzüger Schulterwärmer gearbeitet werden.
Dieses Tuch kann als lange Halbmondsichel oder breiter bis hin zu fast dreieckig mit einer wundervollen welligen Kante an der Außenkante gearbeitet werden.
Bei echten Drachenfans dürfen Kopf und Schwanzteil an diesem schmusigen Haustier nicht fehlen. Wie sonst sollte der Drache mögliche Angreifer im Auge behalten oder drohend mit dem Schwanz zucken, wenn ihm jemand zu nahe kommt.
Anpassbar an jedes Garn und jede Lauflänge.
