The Dreamwalker
3 years ago, I went to my first ever Knit City as an attendee. Prior to that year, I was a closet knitter and had absolutely no idea of the world I was missing out on. I wore a rectangular shawl knit out of some cheap yarn, based on a stitch pattern I had found on the internet. Between rushes of invigoration, I felt an awkward sensation of being watched… hovered over… touched…
To my surprise, my sixth sense was actually picking up the sensation of not one, but several pairs of senior ladies throughout the day ogling the pattern on my shawl. It was as if their minds understood the social rule of politely admiring from afar, and yet their bodies couldn’t help but reach out to examine the design just a little closer.
3 years, multiple designs, and a KC (guest) vendor position later, that stitch pattern has finally come to fruition in one of my most iconic designs-- the cowlkerchief.
PS. IT’S REVERSIBLE!
