The Easiest Scarf
This pattern comes with a full step-by-step video tutorial linked here. You can find this pattern for free here or buy it here on Etsy to support my work and get the extensive photo tutorial only found in the Etsy version. If you’ve never knit anything before, I will walk you through the entire process.
• INTRODUCTION
This scarf is knit flat as a rectangle that is then seamed at the cast on and bind off edges to create a circle scarf/cowl. The amount of stitches you cast on determines how tall your cowl will be, and the amount of rows you knit will determine the circumference. There are accompanying video and photo tutorials included.
• SIZING
Customizable Size.
Sample is 28” {71 cm} around by 10” {25.5 cm} tall.
MATERIALS
• YARN
Any yarn.
I suggest Super Bulky (#6) yarn because it works up quickly.
Yardage will vary depending on the amount of stitches you cast on and the length you knit. Sample used approx. 100 yards {91 meters}, but yardage will vary.
• Sample uses: Lion Brand Thick & Quick (80% Acrylic / 20% Wool, 106 yds {97 m}/ 170g) in the colorway Butterscotch.
• NEEDLES
Any needle size that pairs well with your yarn. Most yarn labels will have a suggested needle size written on them.
Sample used US 15 {10 mm} needles.
• OTHER MATERIALS
Yarn Needle.
• GAUGE
Works with any gauge.
