The Eider sweater is knit bottom-up. Begin by knitting the body and both sleeves up to the yoke. Transfer the underarm stitches of the body and the sleeves to pieces of scrap yarn or stitch holders. Combine the remaining stitches of the body and the sleeves on a circular knitting needle to form the yoke, shaping it with simple decreases until the neckline stitches are cast off. Finally, graft the underarm stitches on the body and the sleeves together using the Kitchener stitch.

Gauge
18 stitches and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm using 4½ mm needles.
Check your tension and adjust the needle size if necessary.
