YARN & YARDAGE
This pattern requires a fingering-weight yarn, preferably soft so it is suitable to be worn by a baby. Merino wool, silk, alpaca, acrylic yarns, or blends are recommended. Two or three different colours of yarn are needed, depending on the choice to add a third colour or not. Make sure to create a gauge swatch including the colour work to check if your colours of choice work well together. Check table 2 to see how much yarn is needed for each colour.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
● Circular needles US3 / 3.25mm for the main part (see note below)
● Circular needles US1 / 2.25mm for the ribbing
● Depending on the size of the garment, use 8-16” / 20-40 cm cables and DPNs for the sleeves.
● Scissors
● A tape measure
● Stitch markers
● Scrap yarn
● (optional) Blocking materials

Note: If necessary, switch to one needle size larger or smaller to get gauge. You may need to use a needle 1-2 sizes bigger or smaller for colorwork than you use for stockinette stitch. A lot of knitters work more tightly or looser in stranded colorwork than in stockinette. To find out the right needle size, always make a gauge swatch (in the round) first.
