In this pattern you will find instructions for three sizes of baby bootie: 0–3 months, 3–6 months and 6–12 months, in four yarn weights (aran/worsted, chunky, light super chunky and super chunky).

The pattern has been written in collaboration with Jayne Tucker of Two Little Rainbows for use with her gorgeous faux suede soles. These come in sizes 0–3 months and 3–6 months. You can, of course, choose to knit a sole for these sizes instead and a knitted sole is the only option for 6–12 months for safety reasons. We do not recommend that babies walk in the pre made bootie soles.

Skill Level ~
The pattern is suitable for advanced beginners onwards! You’ll find plenty of picture and video tutorials below.

Method ~
To make the booties with the soles from Two Little Rainbows, we will use a crochet hook to pull the yarn through the soles before knitting the main body in seamless rounds. You can use your preferred method for knitting in the round, such as double-pointed needles (DPNs), two sets of circulars, magic loop, or ‘flexi’ needles. If you are making the booties without the pre made soles, we will knit in rows for the sole section.
