I’ve always adored Christmas, and I love that these ornaments incorporate knitting into my Christmas tree. The double knitting creates reversible colour work fabric, so the motif is visible no matter how it’s hung on the tree and the six motifs are presented in order of difficulty, with the easiest first. The Elves Made It uses such little yarn that it’s a great stash busting project, and while gauge isn’t crucial it is important that the finished piece of knitting fit through the hole in the glass ball. Full written instructions are included, and don’t assume experience with double knitting. There are also charts showing what one side of each motif looks like for illustrative purposed but the chart does not provide explanations on how to do the double knitting technique.
