The Embrace / L’Etreinte
This cardigan is knitted from top down seamlessly.
You will start with the provisional cast on at the center back of the collar. Thereafter, you will pick up stitches for the fronts, sleeves, and back sections along the vertical edge of the collar. Continuing down, you will work the raglan shaping, front increases and lace simultaneously. Then separate the body and the sleeves, finally you will knit the body back and forth until end.
The sleeves will be knitted in round in stockinette stitch with
cuff in garter stitch.
Finished Measurements:
a- Bust circumference: 37½ (41, 45, 49)53, 57, 61 inches; 95 (105, 115, 125)135, 145,155 cm, 4 inches; 10 cm positive ease include.
b- Yoke depth: 7½ (8, 8½, 9)10, 11, 12 inches; 19 (21, 22 23)25, 28, 31 cm.
c- Upper sleeve circumference: 10 (10½, 11½, 12½)14, 15½, 16½ inches; 26 (27, 29, 32½)36½, 40, 42½ cm.
d- Sleeve length from underarm to cuff: 19½ inches; 50 cm.
e- Length from underarm to hem: 19 inches; 48 cm.
Materials:
Yarn: 1530 (1530, 1640, 1750)1750, 1860, 2000 yards; 1400 (1400, 1500, 1600)1600, 1700, 1800 meters of DK yarn or other yarn for obtain gauge. The sample was knitted in size S using Woolynath’ by aux laines des saisons - 100% wool – 310 yards; 280 meters
Needle: US6; 4.00 mm andUS4; 3.5 mm circular needles and dpns.
Other Notions: 14 stitch markers, cable needle, waste yarn, tapestry needle for weaving.
Gauge: stockinette st: 22 sts and 29 rows to 4 inches; 10 cm on US6; 4.00 mm needles, after block
