The Entwined Hat
The sweet and feminine look of the Entwined Hat is created by these clever yet easy “braids”. The braids are made using chain and slip stitch loops and produces a slightly gathered side to this slouch hat.
Tools needed: H and I hooks, 150-200 yards of worsted weight yarn, 2 buttons
size : one size fits most adults
gauge: rounds 1-5, when measuring FPDC from center to edge should = 2.25”
written in american crochet terms
Notes
~ Rounds 7-23 are worked in joined rounds, but are worked by turning your work and alternating direction as through you are working in rows; working from the outside (RS) for one row, then working from the inside (WS) for the next row. To keep the joins looking their best, there is no starting chain, simply pull your loop to the height of a DC or SC as needed. In this section continue working the first stitch of the round in the first stitch of the previous round. (This may mean working the stitch slightly behind where your hook is.)
~ All rounds of the brim are worked from the right side (RS)
