The Erin Hat
This pattern is
available for free.
The pattern is worked back and forth until a rectangle is formed. When the body is done, the sides are stitched together. The top is cinched shut. The brim is then worked in the round, using Bpdc and Fpdc. The Crab stitch is used for edging. Even tension is pretty important in this pattern to get a consistent chevron look- otherwise, they may look wobbly.
Finished size is approx. 10.5 in H x 8.5 in W.
Fits most adult heads. Add or decrease the starting ch by a factor of six to adjust the diameter. You can stop or add rows to increase the height.
