The Essential Tank Top
Pattern description from Lace Style: “A large-scale motif worked in fine yarn on large needles creates an appealing airy fabric in Laura Zukaite’s lace tank. Worked from the bottom up in two simple pieces with minimal edging, this tank shows off the rounded lines of the lace pattern beautifully. The front and back are joined by tiny chains of stitches at the shoulders. Wear the tank belted or let it hang straight; wear it with jeans or a flowy dress - whatever you do, you can’t go wrong.”

Notes from Lace Style:
- Work with two strands of yarn held together unless otherwise noted.
- For selvedge stitches, slip the first stitch of every row as if to purl with yarn in back and knit the last stitch of every row. The selvedge stitches are not shown on the charts.
- Work armhole decreases inside selvedge stitches as follows: On right-side (RS) rows, sl 1 (selvedge st), ssk, work in pattern to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 (selvedge st); on wrong-side (WS) rows, sl 1, p2tog, purl to last 3 sts, ssp, k1.
- When shaping the armholes, if there are not enough stitches to work a yarnover and its companion decrease, work the stitches in stockinette instead. If there are enough stitches to work only one of the two yarnovers associated with a double decrease, substitute a single decrease (either k2tog or ssk) for the double decrease and work the single yarnover in its usual place in the pattern.
