The pattern includes chart and light written explanations.
The story behind it: based on Meher Baba’s hand writing of the word “I”, strating with ‘the limited I’, ‘the false I’, and so on till ‘The Real I“. His ‘I’ looks like 9.
The rainbow colors symbolize our journey to a higher self: from heavy dark red, to light and sky blue.

There are 2 version:

Easy: knit in either stranding or intarsia.
Size: 30 sts wide & adjust length as you wish.
In general, thin needles & skinny yarn = small scarf.
Big needles and thick yarn = big cozy scarf.
Yarn: Use 7 rainbows colors + an 8th yarn for the top (light or sky blue), or colors of your choice it can be 8 colors, or just 2 alternating yarn for example.
Needles: to match your yarn.
Gauge is not crucial and you can add rows as you knit to adjust it.

Advanced: knit with short rows and double knit (for the eye), to avoid stranding/intarsia and have a 2 sided scarf.
The whole scarf is double stranded.
The knit process is areas of intense knitting that requires focus, alternating with ‘rest areas’ of one color bands.
Size: knitting with double stranded worsted yarn, and US13/15 needles, the result is a huge cozy scarf that is almost a shawl/little blanket.
Yarns: 7 rainbow colors + a dark color to go with the red at the base, and a light one to go with the sky blue at the top (9 yarns altogether).
